Bad Things, Pt. 2: Avengers vs. the New Masters of Evil

The Avengers' kids return to the mansion in a hurry when they discover its impossible to raise any kind of communications. For those who've gotten used to a fair amount of guidance as they've taken the first steps into super-heroics, the time to get there is especially maddening.

The sight is a horror show. The mansion has obviously seen some major damage. A large section of the roof is missing entirely, there's numerous holes through the walls, the front lawn is burning in a couple spots, cratered with impact marks and signs of heavy armament fire in other places. The Hulk's footprints can be seen in a spot or two, though he does not appear to be the only one who has entered. The security systems are completely destroyed, the wreckage strewn all over the place.

There's no sign of any of the Avengers out here, aside from the signs of a battle some of them obviously took part in. Well... almost no sign.

On the front steps, one of Iron Man's arms has been left, discarded, as something of a welcome mat.

Any closer inspection will reveal that there's an arm still inside the armor.

A scream echoes from inside the building.
